A one day intensive course on
Fiqh of Fasting [Sawm]
With the blessed month of Ramadan fast approaching, this one day intensive course will guide you through the rules and laws of fasting based on established principles. Any act of worship needs to be based on sound knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah and the teachings of our legal traditions. The course will be taught by young British Muslims Imams who have studied in France , Syria , and Egypt .

Lecturers
Imam Jilani Miah
He has a degree in English and Arabic from Westminster University , London and two diplomas in Arabic from France and Syria . In Syria he completed a four year Islamic law programme in the Institute of Al-Fath in Damascus . This was an intensive course in which he studied in detail many texts both classical and contemporary, dealing with most of the major Islamic disciplines such as Qur'anic exegesis, Hadith studies, Islamic theology, law, literature, poetry and contemporary Islamic thought. His private tuition with notable scholars included several classical texts in Arabic grammar, Islamic law, Maqasid Al-Shariah and Jurisprudence. He has also translated from Arabic 'Duties of the Muslim Youth'.
Imam Ahmad Faruq
Preliminarily study of Islam and Islamic Sciences was with his father Maulana Abdul Qadir. He studied Arabic Language and memorized the Qur'an at the European Institute of Islamic Sciences ( France ). He then went on to study classical Shari'ah Sciences with scholars in Syria and recently completed the BA Islamic Jurisprudence course from Mahd Al-Fath (Damascus).He is currently pursuing further studies at Al-Azhar University, Egypt as well training to be a Chaplain.
